A complete smile is a healthy smile. Dr. Sahota and the Highland Village Dental Studio team will do everything we can to save your teeth and keep your smile healthy. But if you need a tooth extraction, you can trust us for the care you deserve.
Your permanent teeth are supposed to keep you smiling for life. However, sometimes having a tooth removed is necessary. Common reasons for extraction include severe damage, decay, or infection such that the tooth cannot be saved. You may also require an extraction in cases of tooth crowding, or when your mouth is too small to accommodate all of your adult teeth.
Dr. Sahota and the Highland Village Dental Studio team will always do everything possible to save your tooth. We offer restorative procedures, such as root canals, fillings, and crowns, to repair teeth and keep your smile complete. If our dentist determines that tooth extraction is the best treatment, we will schedule your procedure as soon as possible to provide the relief you need.
Wisdom tooth removal is a common procedure to prevent painful complications caused by the eruption of this final set of molars. If left untreated, your wisdom teeth can come in at the wrong angle, come in impacted, or never erupt through the gum line at all. In this case, the molars can cause jaw pain and infections in the gum tissue. Wisdom teeth can also cause sinus issues, cavities, and damage to the surrounding teeth.
If you are experiencing issues with your wisdom teeth, call Highland Village Dental Studio today. Dr. Sahota performs gentle wisdom tooth extractions to help our patients maintain optimal oral health.
First, our dentist will administer local anesthetic to numb the extraction site and minimize any potential discomfort. You may experience some pressure during your procedure, but patient discomfort is rare. Once you are comfortable, our dentist will gently and safely remove the tooth.
If your tooth is impacted, it will require a minor surgical procedure wherein our dentist cuts away the gum and bone tissue to reach the tooth. Hard-to-remove teeth may be removed in pieces. Dr. Sahota will explain all of this to you prior to your extraction to make sure you understand the process in full. Following your procedure, our dentist will prescribe antibiotics and pain relievers as needed. We will also provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions. Be sure to follow these instructions for a swift and comfortable recovery.
